Safari with deer: Where the Lapland fairy tale begins
Get to know the most graceful inhabitants of the Arctic — and find out how reindeer have been keeping Sami secrets for centuries.
What is included:
Personal door-to-sleigh transfer
The driver will pick you up from the hotel/airport in Rovaniemi and take you to the farm in 20 minutes through the snow-covered forests.
Meeting with deer “eye to eye”
Hand feeding: Give the reindeer a treat and feel their velvety noses in the palm of your hand.
Sledding: Ride through the quiet tundra to the sound of bells — like real Sami nomads.
Campfire stories
The reindeer guide will tell you:
• Why deer are the “gold of the North” and how they have been bred for 500 years.
• How Sami people read deer tracks in the snow and predict the weather.
• Why do deer need horns in winter (spoiler: not just for beauty!).
Arctic Spirit style photo shoot
Portraits with deer on the background of snow-covered forests.
Shots from the team: your smiles, their furry ears and steam from their breath in the cold.
A cozy ending to the adventure
Return to the traditional farmhouse: warm yourself by the fireplace with a cup of hot gleggi (Finnish mulled wine) and ginger biscuits.
Why is safari a must-do?
Not a ritual tour: You will not just “look” at the deer, but become a part of their world.
Warmth guarantee: After 40 minutes in the cold, a fireplace, blankets and guide’s stories will warm your soul.
Only your group: A maximum of 8 people, so that everyone has time to pet the deer and ask questions.
It is important to know:
Equipment: We give out warm overalls and breeches, but wear thermal underwear!
Tip: Bring some berries (for example, cloudberries) — deer love them as an addition to treats.
Souvenirs: You can buy a handmade deer horn or a Sami bracelet at the farm.
“Deer are not animals. These are the guardians of Lapland. And today they will share their magic with you.”
Why it works:
Balanced adventure and comfort (icy air → warm fireplace).
Educational element + emotions (stories + the ability to touch deer).
Photos as proof — clients will want to show footage of a “real” reindeer.
